NCAFC Announce SAH as Charity Partner

Newry City AFC are proud to announce that we have selected the Southern Area Hospice as our charity partner. Newry Manager Darren Mullen commented “We are delighted to link with The Hospice as our official charity partner.

It’s an organisation that has helped thousands of people from the Newry area in some way and we are more than happy to help in any small way. We will be organising fund raising activities over the coming months and I know our fans and club members will have no hesitation in supporting a very worthy charity.”

Newry Chairman Martin McLoughlin “I’m thrilled to have the Southern Area Hospice as our charity partner we at NCAFC strive to be a community club and are only too happy to support such a worthy charity who do such great work in our local community.”

James McCaffrey, Regional Marketing Officer SAHS stated “We are delighted that Newry City have chosen us as their charity partner and we look forward to working with them this coming year.

We are truly grateful that the logo is now featuring on the shirts as it raises awareness of our services and is great exposure for us as a charity. The support will go a long way to help local people.”

Last Man Standing

The Rules of the competition:
1. It’s simple, just pick the winner of one English Premier League match for six rounds at week one. If your selection wins – you progress to the next round, lose or draw and you’re out. Should you still be in the competition at week six we will then issue another selection sheet.
2. Once your selections are made, you will not have the ability to change them.
3. You may not pick the same team to win more than once during the tournament. So for example if you pick Man United in Round 1, then you can’t pick them for the rest of the competition.
4. In the event that any match involving a team you have selected is postponed or cancelled for any reason, you will continue to the next round of the competition. That team will no longer be available for selection in future rounds.

5. Entry fee must be submitted to the seller before the Thursday 1st February or player will not be entered into the competition.

Dara Noonan Signs at The Showgrounds

Newry Manager Darren Mullen is delighted with his newest addition to the squad, “I’m delighted to welcome Dara to the club. He’s a player we’ve known about for a few years and comes with plenty of experience at this level. We’ve been lacking players in the defensive area due to injuries and although our defence has been superb this season it’s an area that needed to be strengthened. Dara fits the profile of what we are looking for and at only 23 I’m hoping his best years are in a Newry jersey. He’s also another local lad and I’m sure will fit easily into our squad.”

Dara commented,“I am delighted to sign for Newry, its a brilliant set up at The Showgrounds and the club has a very loyal following. Having played with Armagh City & Lurgan Celtic I know what it takes in this league but with the strong squad Darren has set up I think Newry are more than capable. Being local and having played against them I know the Newry players and that will help me settling in, it’s a matter of knuckling down and fighting for my place. There’s no stand out team in this league and we will soon move into the post split phase. There’s maybe still a wee bit of work to do to make sure we make that split and then its all to play for. I’ll be doing my very best to contribute to that.”
