Fans

The fans of Newry City have often been described as small in number but dedicated to the club. No matter what the misfortunes of the club where, there was always a dedicated fan-base willing the club on-wards and up-wards. Despite the small fanbase the variety of fans you will find attending games at The Showgrounds range from young children to old age pensioners, both male and female. Newry City welcomes all fans through the gates of the club to spur the team on.

Newry City fans were first Irish League fans to appear on popular football show, Soccer AM. Eight fans of the club appeared on the show in November 2010, which was viewed across the UK and further afield and seen by millions of viewers.  Not only were the fans the first to represent a club from the Irish League, remarkably they were also the first fans to score three in a row in the “Road to Wembley” game on the show!

Going forward, the club would like to see the supporters rally behind the management team and the players to ensure the club moves in the right direction. If you feel you could have a part to play in the club do not hesitate in getting in touch, as the club will be on the lookout for volunteers in the forthcoming months.
