Newry City AFC U11 Team

NCAFC Academy Results Round-Up

The Newry City AFC Academy were back in action last weekend:

Newry City AFC u11 v Glendowan 2015 at Lisburn Rec 1B

Goalscorers: Noah Kearns & Rhys Hempkin

A tough game from the start for Newry City 2014 against a strong Glendowan side. The game started scrappy & Newry conceded 2 goals early that maybe on another day, they wouldn’t have. However, Newry showed great character to stay in the game & scored directly from a corner kick by Rhys Hempkin. Glendowan scored a third against the run of play but Newry pulled 1 back with a well worked team goal to make it 3-2 at the break.

The second half started scrappy but Newry scored a fantastic goal with a great ball out from the back by Noah Turley and a superb finish by Noah Kearns. Newry tried going for the winner but the ball would not go over the line. Unfortunately, Glendowan finished the game strong and scored 2 very late goals when Newry were pushing for the winner. One of those games for Newry but the boys can be proud of themselves.

Man of the Match: Deaglàn Finnegan

Team: Rory O’Hagan (GK), Noah Turley, Max McKeown (Captain), Rio Carroll, Reuben Bentley-McKevitt, Noah Kearns, Deaglàn Finnegan, Rhys Hempkin, Daìthi Gorman, Daniel Drumm

Newry City AFC U15 Newry city U15s showed their Attacking power yesterday beating Lisburn distillery, with goals coming from all over the pitch.  Eight different goal scorers making their mark.

Special mention to Ethan Kelly keeping a clean sheet and playing with a injury first half And Eoin Taylor for standing in for Ethan second half.

Newry City AFC U16 V Larne U16

We were up against from the first minute against a top opposition and after a decent first 10 minutes Larne took full control and dominated large parts of the game while we tried to stay as disciplined without the ball as possible but their quality was just too much and eventually broke us down and they ran out strong winners.
