Peaky Blinders night coming soon

Tickets for the much anticipated Peaky Blinders night in association with Newry City AFC, at Narrow Water Castle on Saturday, April 21st, are selling fast! Limited numbers are available to purchase from Marty McParland (07821 254199), priced at £15, so grab yours before it’s too late!

The event, based on the hugely popular BBC series, will have a strict 1920s dresscode, so get your waistcoats and flat caps at the ready. Come dressed in style and have an evening of entertainment with the Burlesque Dancers, cocktails and of course the wonderful casino tables with main prize 55” flat screen TV, before finishing the night off with a DJ. There will be prizes for best dressed woman and man on the night.

Newry City AFC commercial manager Gary Wilson said: “Since there won’t be another Peaky Blinders series until 2019, we thought we’d have this night to make the wait a bit more bearable!

“We’re hoping for a great turn out in numbers for this fundraising night to support the club. So tell everybody you know and come along for a great night’s entertainment.”

Doors will open at 8:30pm sharp.

NCAFC Visit to Daisy Hill Childrens Ward

Players, management and staff of Newry City AFC paid their annual visit to the children’s ward of Daisy Hill hospital along with Santa this afternoon.

They were delighted to be able to bring some Christmas cheer to children and their parents in the ward along with entertaining the nursing staff.

We would like to thank Gerard and Siobhan Rice from Around A Pound for their help and generosity with this event.

On behalf of the club we would like to wish all the children and all the patients a speedy recovery and we are sure Santa won’t forget them on Christmas Day.

Fostering & Adoption Information Evening

Universal Children’s Day is celebrated on 20th November each year by the UN General Assembly to promote children’s welfare and recognise the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Universal Children’s Day recognises every child’s right to: be protected; be educated; be healthy; be heard; and be treated fairly. The theme of Universal Children’s Day 2017 is ‘Stop Violence Against Children’. Every child has the right to be free from violence and abuse, and to grow up in a world which enables them to reach their full potential. There are children in your local area that need a secure home, safe from harm or abuse.

With a rise in the number of children coming into care in Northern Ireland, the Southern Health and Social Care Trust is urging more people, who are interested in fostering or adoption, to come forward. If you are resilient, flexible and have the energy and time to care for a child, come along to our information evening to find out more. Talk to experienced carers, meet with social workers, and learn more about specific children who need a permanent home for the rest of their childhood, through long-term fostering or adoption. The event will also share information about emergency, respite, short-term and intensive support foster care.

If you cannot attend the event please contact the Southern Trust on 028 38 337181 to arrange an individual visit. untitled.pdf
There are no unwanted children. Just unfound families. Don’t rule yourself out.
