After the work is done on the pitch in the Marshall Cup at The Showgrounds, there will be a quiz run in the Social Club shortly after the game. To participate in the quiz as a team of four will cost £10 and all money raised will go towards the running of the Club. So be sure to join in with the fun & get your thinking caps on!!
Call for phones & Loose Change!
Have you any old mobile phones lying around the house you no longer use? The Club are hoping to raise funds through recycling old mobile phones. So why not clear out those old phones which we all have sitting around in at least one drawer or cupboard at home and help our club and the environment in the process!
You can drop them into the Club Shop or see Decky McParland at any home game.
The Club would also appreciate any contribution to the ‘Loose Change’ Collection Bottle which is placed on the counter in the Social Club. All money that is raised is put towards the running of the Youth Development. Thank You.
Newry City AFC Under 13 team trials
Newry City AFC Under 13 team trials will take place on the back pitch at the Showgrounds on Saturday 10th August, 10.00-11.30am.
The trial is open to anybody born in 2001. All trialists should be dressed to play with football boots and shinpads.

Maynooth Town 1 Newry City AFC 0
Newry senior team travelled to Maynooth on Saturday for a pre-season friendly against Leinster League Division one side Maynooth Town FC. Although Newry lost the game 1-0, there were many positives to take from the game such as a solid display from debutant goalkeeper Peter Murphy and a Man of the Match performance from midfield dynamo Paul Daly.

Next up for Newry is another friendly, this time against Mid Ulster Division One team Ambassadors of Portadown. K.O is 2.30pm at the Showgrounds, Saturday 3rd July.

Newry City AFC Golf Classic
The inaugural Newry City AFC Golf Classic will take place at Cloverhill Golf Club on Friday August 30th.
Teams of four cost £100 (£25 each), which will include your round of golf, a goody bag before you take to the course and a meal in Cloverhill club house following your round.
The competition is open to everyone. There will be prizes for GUI members (those who are members of a club and who therefore have GUI-registered handicaps) and non-GUI members (those without handicaps).
There will also be prizes for the longest drive and closest to the pin.
Presentations will be held in the Social Club at Newry Showgrounds later that evening.
There are sponsorship opportunities available for each tee box and green as well as overall sponsorship of the event.
