Deane Watters Signs

Darren Mullen is delighted to add talented midfielder Deane Watters to his squad in preparation for the 20/21 season.

Deane commented “I am delighted to sign for Newry, I feel that the club is a great fit for me, the style of football played here will really suit the type of player I am. I feel I have a lot to prove to myself and other people, I think playing at this club with the players we have in the squad will definitely help me do this.
I’m really looking forward to kicking on with preseason and eventually start the league. I know this team has the potential to be a front runner for promotion this year and hopefully we can get the club back where it should be in the Premiership.”

Byrne Signs at The Showgrounds

Newry Manager Darren Mullen is delighted to add young goalkeeper Mark Byrne to his squad “Although only 19 Mark comes us to us with Premiership experience and I’ve no doubt he will be a good addition to the squad.

He has all the attributes and potential to develop into a top class goalkeeper with us. Damian McCorry our GK coach and Mickey Keenan have been working with both Mark and Lewis and we now have 2 hungry young goalkeepers ready to fight it out for the No.1 jersey.” ⚽️🔵⚪️ #YourCityYourClub

Lockhart & Walker Sign

Newry Manager Darren Mullen “After what has been a long break it’s good to bring some positive news to the club with the signing of the two lads. I’ve been trying to sign Thomas for a while now and thankfully the circumstances suit both parties. He’s strong quick and direct which is what we need in the final third. His experience and the fact he knows a lot of the lads will give the dressing room a big lift. Jimmy is someone we obviously know well and without doubt one of the main reasons why we were so successful during our first 5 years. His skill and ability to pick a pass will be a big asset to our attacking play this year.

On a different note I’d like to thank Andy Coleman, Adam Foley, Stefan Lavery and Briann Cabraley who have left the club. They have all been great lads to work with and whilst we wish them all the best for the future they know they will always be welcome at The Showgrounds.”
