Newry City AFC were contacted last month with regard to an opportunity with a magazine called “Football Focus Magazine” which would see us feature.

It was decided amongst members of the committee that we would not proceed with this option as we did not feel it was the best thing for our football club.

It has been brought to our attention by one of our sponsors that staff from Football Focus magazine had contacted them explaining that they are doing a spread on our club in turn offering sponsors an opportunity to advertise in the issue for a fee. We would like to make it clear that Newry City AFC has not given any permission for our sponsors to be contacted.

Our Chairman Martin McLoughlin has been in contact with Football Focus today, to state that this should not have happened and to ensure that no more contact should be made to our sponsors without our permission.
