NCAFC Last Man Standing Round 4 results

A massive 60 people bit the dust in the fourth round of the NCAFC Last Man Standing.

Aston Villa, Cardiff City, Man City, Southampton and Sunderland accounted for 18 of the fallers but it was Man United’s failure to beat Fulham that really whittled the numbers down this week.

Late goals from RVP and Michael Carrick looked to have been enough to give United the three points but Darren Bent’s header deep into injury time meant United had to settle for a share of the spoils with the league’s bottom team. 42 punters went out on United, which now leaves us with just 22 remaining in the competition going into round 5.

The full list of Round 4 results can be seen below. If your name is highlighted in red, this means you have been eliminated! A text/email will be sent to the 22 people remaining in the competition on Thursday with the fixtures for round 5. Your selection must be returned by no later than 7pm on Friday 14th February.

Thanks and Good Luck in the next round.

NCAFC Last Man Standing Round 3 results

For the second week running, Liverpool caused the biggest upset of the NCAFC Last Man Standing. They could only draw at lowly West Brom which knocked 25 people out of the competition.

Man United were the second biggest casualties of the round. Charlie Adam’s double  for Stoke further compounded United’s woes, knocking out a further 20 punters from the competition.

Defeats for Newcastle (8 backers), Swansea (2 backers), Man City (1 backer) and Spurs’ draw (6 backers) with Hull meant a total of 62 people bowed out of round 3 of The NCAFC Last Man Standing!

This week a special mention must go to Gareth Young who was the only person to take a chance on bottom club West Ham. The gamble paid off as the Happy Hammers beat Swansea 2-0 to record their first home win since November – a result which has since cost Swansea Manager Michael Laudrup his job!

The full list of Round 3 results can be seen below. If your name is highlighted in red at the bottom of the list then unfortunately you have been eliminated! Congratulations to the other 83 people still remaining in the competition, a text/email will be sent to you on Thursday with the fixtures for round 4. Your selection must be returned by no later than 7pm on Friday 7th February.

Liverpool’s failure to beat Aston Villa caused the biggest upset of Round 2, accounting for 54 fallers. Their Merseyside counterparts Everton were the second biggest casualty of the round, only managing a draw away to West Brom, which meant a further 7 people were eliminated from the competition. Defeats for Stoke (2 backers), Hull (2 backers) and Southampton’s failure (4 backers) to see off bottom club Sunderland meant 69 people in total were knocked out of the competition in Round 2.

NCAFC Last Man Standing Round 1 results

Of the 223 entrants in the 1st round of the NCAFC Last Man Standing competition, an impressive 207 made it safely through to Round 2, thanks largely to wins for Everton (70 backers) and Spurs (54 backers). Wins also for Chelsea (21 backers), Man Utd and Southampton (19 backers each) ensured there were no major shocks in Round 1. However, 16 people made an early exit from the competition after Cardiff (13 backers) and Fulham (3 backers) suffered home defeats to West Ham and Sunderland respectively.

A special mention must go to Keith Larkin who was the only person who took a gamble on bottom club Sunderland away to Fulham. A hat trick from Adam Johnson helped the Black Cats to a 4-1 win, only their fourth league win of the season. Well done Keith.

Call for phones

Have you any old mobile phones lying around the house you no longer use? The Club are hoping to raise funds through recycling old mobile phones, so why not clear out those old phones which we all have sitting around in at least one drawer or cupboard at home and help our club and the environment in the process!

Can you please hand them in to Decky or anybody on the committee. Many thanks in advance.
